Project Overview
SoundWave, an emerging audio-tech company, partnered with Vebora to create a mobile companion app for their flagship wireless headphones. Their vision was to offer users complete control of sound settings, noise-cancelation modes, and device performance through an interface that felt as premium and intuitive as the headphones themselves. The challenge was to balance audiophile-level customization with simplicity for everyday listeners.
Scope of Work
We began by researching how users interacted with audio devices — from casual music fans to professional sound engineers. This informed a design system that was both functional and approachable, tailored to enhance the listening experience. The scope included:
• User research & persona development to identify needs of casual and power users
• Custom UI design inspired by audio waveforms and minimal aesthetics
• EQ personalization features for fine-tuned sound control
• Seamless integration of device functions (battery status, firmware updates, noise-cancelation modes)
• Prototype testing and usability iterations to refine the experience
Outcome
The companion app became a core part of the SoundWave experience, transforming how users engaged with their headphones. The streamlined interface not only improved accessibility but also strengthened brand loyalty. As a result:
• App rating increased to 4.7 stars within the first quarter of launch
• Customer support tickets dropped by 45%, with fewer complaints about connectivity and settings
• 80% of users reported improved satisfaction due to EQ customization and one-tap sound modes
• The app is now positioned as a competitive differentiator in the premium headphone market
